How can the remenbrance of the Shoah be carried forward and kept visible, when the direct witnesses of the time can no longer bear witness to it?

This is not only a question of historical documentation, but also one that affects art and here concretely, theater:

In Austria, extraordinarily impressive theater // performance productions have emerged in the past decade, each working in a very unique artistic way with the explosive and at the same time historical moment of the transformation of testimony. Some of the productions directly involve the survivors // contemporary witnesses, while others work with their testimonies.

theater erinnert would like to make these theater // performance productions, supplementary material and press reviews visible on a joint portal. Interviews with the play developers, directors and performers provide an in-depth look at the background and motives as well as the particular formal structure of each production.
